Introduction

Python is a high-levelgeneral-purpose programming language. Its design philosophy emphasizes code readability with the use of significant indentation. Its language constructs and object-oriented approach aim to help programmers write clear, logical code for small- and large-scale projects.

Python provide simple syntax (e.g. print(), pow()) help programmer to write code faster, also it had its own package repository called PyPI which accessible using pip there is a lot library to support your code there.


Installation

Skip the theory; let’s install Python in your machine, refer using your current operating system. I’ll suggest to use Python 3 or newer, Python 2 is going EOL soon.

<aside> ❗ Important Check your Python installation by using python --version when executed it’ll return installed and used python version.

Try out

After the setup done, let’s try directly to the interpreter. Execute python from any terminal / command prompt, or if you’re using Windows try open Python Shell (better if you’re start using Terminal tho).

You’ll see prompt like this:

Let’s start by ask the interpreter to print Hello World! by using these syntax:

print("Hello World")
